There is a 1 1/2" area up to where the pull out trays are (the bottom). One tray is 5 1/4" x 5", then there are 2 trays that are 2 1/2" sections. This jewelry box has a mirror (under the paper to hide glare.) This jewelry box is pink with a flower & butterfly on the top of the box. There is also a clasp so the jewelry box will stay closed.
